Rear Differential
haha im sure i will get bashed for this one but im lazy what is the gear ratio for our v6??? i found my 3.73 posi rear end and im looking at putting it in next week with a friend of mine.... he has lifts and every tool imagineable... however his advice if i did do this is on the highway i can use overdrive but for city driving to only use the first three gears... due to such a huge fourth gear i would be putting unneccesary strain on my trans trying to get it to drive in fourth on the lovely streets of las vegas... this sound accurate to you guys? it makes sense but now he has me wondering if this will be doable... only reason for swapping rear is due to a lovely leak and an occasional grinding noise from the rear... and i want rear disc brakes haha so i know people have done this before just looking for some advice not step by step instructions....

In city driving, you don't need it to go into overdrive. It's more of a strain on the engine, and puts your rpm's way low in the power band. Watch your tach, that's why you have one. I always leave mine in third and don't put it in O/D until I'm going at least 45 (not referring to the 69)
