Rear Bumper Bodywork

Hello everyone, I'm fairly new to these forums and I just bought my first car, a 95 v6 3.4l 5spd with about 80k. I got a a great deal from a friend for only $1000 but theres a catch. Theres some pretty ugly damage in the back of the car including a torn up bumper, shattered tail lights and the minor damage to the trunk. He did the best he could touching it up a bit but it still looks pretty bad. I'm going to get another bumper from a junkyard and also some tail lights

I was wondering if anyone ever had to replace there rear bumper and tail lights on this car and if it was a tough job, if maybe I need to get somethin else or if I'm forgetting anything besides the bumper and lights plz share .

Me and a couple friends are going to try to do it ourselves with little experience on bodywork but how hard can it be? Il eventually post pics so you guys can tell me how serious this really is . Thanks

Haven't messed with the bumper, but taillights are easy. You pull back the carpet in the hatch and twist the plastic knobs (I think it's 2 per side?) to loosen the lenses, disconnect the bulbs and you're done.

MCGrril is right on the lights. Two plastic wing nuts per light. Then they just pull out. Simple job there. Not sure on the bumper though. I'm sure Massey or Camaro69 will chime in for some insight. they're they body guys here. You might want to PM one of them.

Before I can tell you what you will need I will need to see some pics. I can guess all day long but I wont be able to tell unless I can see the car.

There's nothing we need to see, removal is straight-forward (or back that is) whether it's damaged or not. Remove the tail lights. Remove the tail panel. Remove the plastic push button/clips from the upper part of the bumper cover, that the tail panel was covering. Remove the screws that attach the cover to the fender wells. Remove the bolts that attach the cover to the upper fender (you gotta get on your back and reach up for those). Remove any other plastic push-in buttons that are on the bottom lip of the cover. Those buttons can be a little tricky by the way. Get a tiny screwdriver and pry the center part out, then the button will come out. Once you get one out, you'll see how they work by wedging in the hole. Disconnect the marker lights. Then pull the bumper cover back and off.

Yea I didnt need to see pics for the removal process but he was also asking what parts and stuff he would need. That part I do need to see what is damaged to figure out what is needed and to know if any damage is in the sheetmetal.
