Radio static

I have searched and searched but had no luck. When I turn my headlights on my stereo gets really static and can't find radio stations at all it also happens when I roll down the windows just not as bad. I’m pretty sure it has something to do with the alternator. Anyone else had this problem?

Wow that’s insane. With mine if I’m listening to a cd it doesn't affect it at all its just something interfering with the radio stations.

Sounds like you're experiencing a voltage drop. You can try cleaning all your connections, battery, ground, battey to chassis and your radio ground. Also the aluminium on these ATC fuses will sometimes crode a bit so pull your radio fuse and check the blades.

The surest way to cure it is to run a seperate fusedfeed from the battery to the radio. Use a relay connected to your switch to make sure you don't drain the battery accidently. An 18awg stranded will carry about 16 amps. I used 12 awg stranded on my set up (20+ amps)
