Default Radiator leaking around neck

Does anyone else have troubles with their radiator leaking under the radiator cap? Car is not overheating but every other day, I have to replace the coolant. I have replaced the cap but it still leaks. The overflow tank has been full and nothing is being drawn out of it when the rad gets low. I placed my hand over the rad neck hole when car is warm and could feel the vac drawing in the coolant from the overflow tank. I used a pair of channel locks and bent the locking tabs on the cap so that the cap will fit pretty darn tight. I will check in a day or so to see if that seals the neck. Does these radiators require the black plastic cap OM part in order to seal properly?

I have cleaned the inside of the neck as well as the top of the neck where the gasket part of the radiator cap would seat. I cannot feel any cracks or burrs around the top or the inside of the plastic neck.

IDK man, All I can think of is poor contact at the seal area, or a small crack that you just havent noticed yet. I'm kinda stumped

Yeah me too! I just wanted to ask on hear before I dropped $150 bucks on a radiator but I guess that is cheaper than overheating and ruining an engine. Thanks anyways!

I think I would try that b4 I bought a new rad. That way you can see if it will hold press. and possibly find the leak

Mine had a leak right by the radiator cap on the plastic neck just below the cap. I tried appoxy but the seal won't hold. i would spend the cash and just replace the damn thing.
