i kno i cant be the only one whose had this problem with my camaro...so my car idles and drives at 2-2500 rpms higher than its sposed to n when it does my fan automatically kicks on even befor i start the car which to me is odd and when im drivin it while its acting up my speedometer completely doesnt work, all my other guages work except my speedometer. when my car runs fine everything works fine but when it acts up its idles and drives way too high, my fan kicks on befor it starts so i kno when its gona act up and my speedometer doesnt work. can anyone please help me bc all the advice about air flow sensors and the throttle body have failed me n im leanin more towards this is an acual engine or computer problem...thanks

 

The fan kicking right in and a fast idle is a sign that there is a code being set and the PCM is going in safe mode.Most likely the check engine lite is also lit. Get the car scanned, look for active and retained codes. The code number and description will indicate what problems the PCM is seeing, and give you a starting point.

 

ive had it checked and driven by a mechanic for the past couple of weeks and it passes the tests every time and im pretty sur i just need a whole new computer in my car but they wont say...
