I just looked in my Chilton manual (basically same thing as Haynes) and they say this word for word:
1) Raise vehicle and blah blah blah about jackstands.
2) Remove rear brakes
3) Turn the parking brake adjuster screw outward until the shoe lining just drags on the braking surface inside the rotor. Then remove the rotor and back-off the adjuster screw until the shoe lining doesn't drag when the rotor is on and turned.
4) Install brakes and check the parking brake.

That's basically it. The adjuster screw will be right in front of your face when you take the rotor off. You can't miss it.

 

thanks buddy, and regarding the brakes and pads, how will i know if they are the cause of the shaking i was describing in the other thread

 

they are its the only thing that would cause this if i were you id get new front rotors and machine the rears if there still in tolerance (go to oreillys they do it for 10$ per and theyll make sure theres still enough metal)

 

Yeah what Basic said lol rotors can only be cut down so far until they have to be replaced. If it is a rough as you say, the rotors will be warped and be ruffled (like Lays Ruffles chips lol) and your pads will probably look the same.

 

but because the rear only does 30% of the braking there less likely to warp

also if you get ceramic pads they wont make your rims nasty there more expensive but autozone will replace them as long as you own the car... i just changed some pads on my moms car they only had like 1000 miles on them but we needed new rotors got the rotors from advance (commercial discount there 40$ rotors for 25$) and went to autozone said the pads were squeaking bad and they replaced them with new 60$ pads

 

u guys have been very helpful, and ill probably get those ceramic pads to, b/c i just got new rims, and am buying eagle gt tires, im going to do all this at the same time!

 

there will still be dust but alot less noticeable just make sure you clean the rims good the dust will rust them

 

they will rust? the rims i have now dont rust(my stock ones)

 

ill post a pic of my wheels they rust as hell

 

if it has rear disk brakes to adjust them u gotta pull the park brake and then drive in reverse. if that dont work u either gotta adjust the cable or u need new pads. if they are drum brakes u gotta adjust the star wheel.
