Default Noisy Lifter Valve

I have 3.4L 1994 with headers, flowmaster exhaust, and a ram air intake. I believe one of my lifter valves needs to be replaced because its ticking hardcore. I was thinking that since I was in that part of the engine I would put a better cam in. I was planning on buying the COMP Cam K16-232-4 http://store.summitracing.com/partde...p;autoview=sku but I was looking in my Hanes Manual and you have to pull the cam straight out. Is there enough room in the engine bay to get the old cam out without moving the engine? And does anyone know what kind of increases I would be getting from a new cam and if the reward would be worth the effort?

You have to remove the fan and radiator I believe. Lifter or valve? I have never heard of a lifter valve. Also, what the hell would you think of installing a cam for, if you don't know the benefits? You get a nice sound and more grunt.

on the V6 Camaro, you can replace the cam without removing the radiator or fans.
