P0102 Mass or Volume Air Flow Circuit Low Input
Hello,
Any help would greatly be appreciated as I do not want to take the car to a dealer!!!
I'm getting the Service Engine Light on the dash and the car stalls at traffic lights unpredictably. It seems like it is shaking more and possibly has lees power but it is difficutl to say for sure.
I went to AutoZone and they read the code as: P0102 Mass or Volume Air Flow Circuit Low Input
and sold me a new MAF. I installed it last night and there is no difference in the way the car is running.
Anyone have experience with this probme / code in the past ... or any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!
This is on a 1999 V6 ( 81K miles )
Thanks in advance.

RE: P0102 Mass or Volume Air Flow Circuit Low Input
Could be a bad connection between the MAF and PCM, or bad MAF out of the box.
Try probing wires at connector.
Yellow wire = 4-6 V (signal lead) Less than 4V =open or grounded circuit, over 6V= PCM trouble.
Black/White = engine ground
Pink = 12 V from ignition switch. Check voltagebetween Pink wire and Black/White wire. Should read same as batt voltage . If not check for bad connection from ignition switch or bad connection to ground.

If the above test passes, perhaps check the air filter. If it's never been changed, maybe it's so full of grime that it is actually starving the engine. But that may be a long shot :P

filter is only 3 month old and in good shape.
Pete thanks for the info!!! I'll be writing that down for future reference !!
I think that the car just needed some time to realize that it received a new MAF. This morning the 'service engine light' turned off and it seems to be doing better. I'll give it a couple more days to a week before concluding that it was just a MAF. But hopefully that is all it was.
