My car would get decently hot and I had to put the fan on to keep it cool. Plus there was no heat. So I went ahead and flushed the cooling system as well as replacing the heater core, radiator and thermostat. I put 50/50 coolant in and started my car. Still no heat but no it overheats even with the fan on. I was thinking maybe the coolant isn't circulating through? Either that or the only last possible thing it could be that I haven't replaced would be the water pump which Im really hoping it isnt. Any ideas or do I need to replace the pump?

 

Its just confusing since it didnt overheat with the fan before I replaced everything.

 

Make sure there are no air bubbles in the cooling system.

 

I just figured it out. Apparently my stupid self didnt pump the coolant after filling everything up for the first time. Pumped it and everything worked. Haha.

Apparently the fluid wont just start flowing by itself or be sucked up by itself. You have to squeeze and release the hose going to the thermostat to get the coolant moving. Otherwise it will just sit in the radiator and will give you no heat and no cooling. So pump the tube and realize heat and cooling.

 

ahh ok. prime it, so it gets a air pocket in there sometimes and ya gota give it a little help.

 

yea prime, like on a lawn mower. i forgot the word since I havent done landscaping in a while now. lol.
