Default overheating issue

i have a 95 3.4 l. i drove the car today and noticed my temp gauge going niuts. so i pull over ,check engine light goes on, i open hood, and hear a sizzling sound. right over the waterpump theres a cooling system connector. the connector plugs or screws into the front of the engine, its callled a "quick disconnect" part #800 401. now theres a 3 peice pipe that connects to the connector, one of these pipes looks very corroded its leaking from the middle pipe. i took the car to a mechanic in my area, he says i need the 3 piece pipe cuz thats where the leak was. i go to my local chevy dealer, show them my problem, they tell me that that 3 peice pipe is discontinued, what is this small 3 piece pipe called where can i get it. the dealer guy says i can just cut a piece off the pipe then refit the hose on it and clamp it tighter, he says no bigiie. so i go back to my mechanic, he says its best to get the part instead of cutting the peice. please i need help

from what i gathered, its a heater inlet pipe, its a metal pipe with 3 connectors, one for 2 hoses and the one the connects to the cooling connector. the connector is part #800-401, the pipe fitting is part number,10189204. i found a few online, im going back to dealer today to see if they can locate that part

sounds like your talking about the hoses that run through the bottom of your throttle body. if thats the case you can cut the pipes or plug them and reroute the hose back to the lower intake mani. how cold does it get around your side? it was designed to keep your throttle body warm so your throttle wouldn't stick during cold months. mines is bypassed we get 27-36 degree weather during nights and I never have any problems.

very interesting, sounds exaactly what the problem is. it gets around 25-35 around my way as well. when i wakr up in the morning and start the car the throttle gets stuck , like its half frozen. i was thinking about just cutting it and bypassing it, but i juts wanna make sure it works cuz im taking a 300 mile trip soon. if i wasnt doing, that i may feel comfortable just "modifying" it. but ill just order the part. thanx slick.
