Oil opinions!
I have been running Havoline oil in all my vehicles since I started driving. Why? Because when I was a kid, I had a neighbor with a 69 camaro and that is what I seen him use. With this freshly rebuilt engine sitting in the back of my truck, I figured I would ask which brand you are using, why you use it and see if maybe I should look at another option, get a little more education about oil.

so many options out there....al goes down to personal experience.
if it is not break in....I suggest snake oil of a good brand....after the first change move to mobil 1...if you have a oil temp gauge...u'll see the big difference !!!

I did a little reading on the net today and found alot of people saying good things about Pennzoil Platinum. Some had oil sample numbers taken from their cars. Alot of those numbers don't mean diddle squat to me though. Anyway, Advance Auto had a special this weekend on that stuff with a filter. So I picked up 5 quarts and a Puralotor oil filter. It is a full synthetic 10w30.

i strongly suggest using Lucas oil stabilizer i use it in everything that has a motor i did the head gaskets on my T-bird with 200,000 miles (not deff saying it was because of the Lucas) but the cylinders were glass not a scratch and the valves were beautiful as for oil i like castrol gts full synthetic just make to substitute a qt of oil for the Lucas

I'm sold on Mobil1, and I use full synthetic in everything. Synthetic oil is already far superior to dino oil, so you don't need to go ruining it with any additives to try and make the oil "better".
Speaking of which, you might want to read this Lucas Snake Oil.....I mean Stabilizer story and weep...http://www.bobistheoilguy.com/images/lucas/lucas.htm

Depends on the car, lol. I've just started using Castrol full synthetic in the Cobalt, I stick with Amsoil in the Camaro, and the Money Pit had Quaker State Q Horsepower 'till it blew up on me.
Apparently Royal Purple is amazingly good, but I can't recall ever seeing it to give it a shot.

Heres my take on it you can take it or leave it just my .2
Castrol gtx=Good basicly what i all ways run after i break in a new engine.
Amsoil=Awsome last forever cleans the valve train up real nice just all around great but expensive.
Royal purple= Pure crap in a bottle,There break in oil is crap aswell ive seen it cuz blow by on many engines and during cold weather RP breaks down and it really isnt worth the pretty bottle of plastic its sold in.
For break in oil=just your normal non Synthetic oil your choice it works better for breaking in oil than royalpoop anyday and its cheap ussually do my break ins like this 50miles change oil for the first time then run another 100miles then change oil and then the 3rd and final oil change put 150 on the it and then switch to a Synthetic.
And i never use any additives in my oil another bad idea.
