it could be in the wiring not the switch itself like i said try jumping the ignition wire on the starter to the power that will bypass everything you still need to put the key in and put it in the run position

 

Do you mean jump the ignition wire on the starter switch?

 

He means hook a wire up to the positive side of the starter and the other end to the battery. Hook to the battery last so that you can disconnect once it starts up.

 

Already done. Starter/solenoid tested fine. The problem is the fuel injectors are not getting power which appears to be a security system related issue. Bear in mind the car doesn't start even when attempting a push start.

 

no jump the power to the starter to the little wire you can use a screwdriver... basically when you turn the key it send power to the little wire engaging the solenoid much like a remote for an amp

Def and vats issue, it's prolly a wire off on the ingnition cylinder that came off.

 

I've come to that conclusion as well. I considered doing a VATS bypass but I'm not to fond of it; making the car easier to steal, plus it kind of has a feel to it like I'm "rigging it" instead of actually fixing the problem.

I'm already in the process of replacing the ignition cylinder. I'm taking my time with it because I'm in no hurry to get it done, plus I have to wait until my next paycheck to order the cylinder (not to mention the mosquitoes are bad this year in FL and I can't work outside for very long). Fortunately the Camaro is not my daily driver so I can let it sit if i have to.

I have the steering wheel off already and I'm in the process of removing the turn signal switch. I'll keep everyone posted as I get the work done.
