Default not right

all right so tonight i was driving my camaro around
and it was acting weird.
At about 2000 rpm just barely on the gas it would feel like it was kinda pulsing
like just barley moving back and forth almost like barely pumping the brakes.
And then at 1000 rpm it almost died on me and i was slowing down
then just driving around I would step on it and it just felt like it was extra slow extra sluggish
like acceleration was not good
And I don't know what it could be?
I put cold air intake on it like a week ago
and I drove it like 10mins and realized that the oem sensor wasnt plugged in to the cia
so it was pulling some unfiltered air in
could that be it?
should i get the engine flushed
and if not PLEASE HELP ME!
p.s its a 2001 v6

Running as short a time as you did with the sensor out would have done NO damage to the engine. But it makes sense that your engine would be running like crap without the air sensor. Did you put it back in your CAI and plug it in?

how old are the plugs/wires? It could be a wide variety of things, have to start simple, then break out the wallet.

Have you driven it since you put the sensor back in? I doubt an IAT sensor would cause that much problem, could be wrong though.

Cracks or burn spots/marks on the wires. Also make sure the plugs are snug at both ends where they connect. As for the plugs, if you have a Haynes or Chiltons manual, they will have pics of what your spark plugs have to say. You can probably find pics of different spark plug conditions on the net as well. Unfiltered air, shouldn't make your car run like crap. Unmetered air (vacuum leak) will. Since this was still seen by the MAF, I don't think that was your problem.
