New Problem
2000, 3.8, 52,000 miles
Sup ladies, Ive noticed a problem lately. My lights dim and my blower fan slows down when i am decelerating as the car down shifts, also when im just sitting in the driveway shifting from drive to reverse. The battery guage drops into the red but it only lasts for a second or two then its fine, my tach doesnt change so my idle isnt dropping that much as i shift any suggestions ? thanks in advance.

I am getting mixed gas readings, I was putting gas last night and Inoticed that the coverunder the cap which leads to the tank isnot flush with pathway.What is that partcalled? and can it have anything to do with the gas readings i.e. (gas evaporation?)

You're talking about the restrictor in the filler neck, and it's supposed to be there. Years ago, when leaded fuel was used, the pump nozzle for leaded was a larger diameter. When unleaded cars came out, they put a restrictor in the neck and made the unleaded pump nozzle a smaller diameter. That was done to prevent anyone from putting leaded fuel in an unleaded car.

to the op. its either your alternator or a bad battery take it to a auto parts store and they should be able to test them both.....then you can have them repalce what need be or do it yourself....
Autozone checked tha battery and the alt. ... They say there both fine.
I noticed yesterday that there is no problem until the car reachesits normal runningtemp. My worry is this may have something to do with the tranny because this only happens when the car is downshifting, and when i shift from reverse to drive and from drive to reverse .. back to square one i quess

Well my a/c has been on but i dont think its from the compressor. It only happens when the car is down shifting or when im shifting from reverse to drive or visa versa. ... im going to go out there tomorrow and check it out. Ill turn off the a/c and see if theres a change ... thnks
