OK - when I first got my RS 3.8 last month - I did plugs, wires and filter. Still idled rough. Then discovered the MAF was bad - replaced it - ran better but not great - yesterday got a "to lean bank 2" code....then....just went out to play with the car some more - started OK then I killed it to re-start - would not start (first time that has happened) i pumped the gas, it started but ran like crap, black smoke, ran like crap for a while then cleared up - took it for a drive and it runs great - better than ever....any idea what happened? could something have been stuck in there? No codes now......Thanks in advance.

 

Took a little while for the computer to reconfigure itself. Normal behavior if was trying to correct for a bad part, and all of a suddenthe bad partwas changed out with a good one. The black smoke probably due to floodingor fuel fouled plugs. Once the extra fuel was got burned off and the plugs cleared, and theengine was happy.
