Default Neutral safety in a 2000 Camaro?

My nieghbor needs a neutral safety switch in his 2000 Camaro, V6, 4sp auto. Where is it in there? The part I bought looks like its mounted to the shifter. If so how much do I gotta rip out to get to it?

Thx

You should just have to open the shifter console enough to see the wires. If you can't find it you'll have to get the wiring diagram for that gen. or call chevy to find out what color the wires are, they should be pink or purple.

If it's the harness then it should be on the shifter or under the dash pad. Most GM cars have it as a large purple wire. Not to sure about the 4th gen cars.
