so I went in with my 2002 camaro today(3.8) to order my exhaust. i would like to go with just a cat back as i cant really afford headers right now and i talked to the guy and he said all the v6 camaros with the flowmasters i was looking at sounded ricey and thats the last thing i want.... any suggestions?

This is simply my opinion here...but Flowmasters on V6s sound awful. Very flappy and raspy sounding. I went with a Magnaflow muffler. I have some vids of flybys and idling...but I also have a full exhaust setup with cam. But Magnaflow gives the deeper, richer tone if that's what you're looking for.

Yeah...there's a reason why they're cheaper...you can just get a muffler, you don't NEED a full catback. I only have the muffler, but my exhaust was pretty much made with access to my own personal mechanic and a welder

Well here's Borla, Flowmaster, and Magnaflow. I think the cars have other mods with them, but it gives you a good idea about the general tone of each. I'm sure there's other exhausts to choose from, but i think those 3 are the most popular for a sixer.
