Need some troubleshooting help

Hey,

I recently bought a 1994 camaro 3.4l from a friend. The car didn't run at the time. Turns out the catalytic converter was clogged. I had a new one welded in. I got it running but now it idles high. (1300rpm). If i reset the computer it will idle around 800-900rpm. But after a minute, the rpms will slowely climb. And it keeps blowing the air pump fuse. The SES light does come on when the car warms up but if i shut the car off and turn it back on the light goes out. And i tried pulling the code from the computer but the SES doesn't flash. So at this point ive replaced the TPS sensor, IAC valve, plugs, wires, O2 sensors. I will be soon replacing the EGR valve because it looks pretty worn out. So i'm kind of stumped on why the air pump is blowing the fuse. Ive replaced the relay for it.

most like you have a short to ground somewhere, which is causing the fuse to blow to protect the circuit.you cant flash codes on the 94, you have to get a scan tool to figure out the code.

The AIR pump motor on these cars goes bad after many years of use, and causes it to blow fuses. The AIR pump has no effect on how the engine runs. You need an OBDI scanner to read the codes, flashing won't work on this model. Additionaly, if the car was assembled towards the end of the model run it may have a OBDII connector, which means yiu will need an OBDII to OBDI adapter cord.
