Default Need Help

Starting in the middle of last summer when the car is partially warm (15min - 1 hour after use) it starts hard. it cranks and cranks but finally starts up. it starts perferct when it is cold and immedatly after use, but has trouble in between. after doing a little reasearch i have found that it may be the ignation module. any ideas? it is a 2000 3.8.
Thanks!

I had a similar problem for a while, where my car would start fine if it had been sitting cold, but if I ran to the store or something, it would have trouble starting on my way back out. If it was within about 30 minutes of stopping the car warm, it wouldn't want to start.

For me, it was due to a faulty MAF sensor. Do you have an SES light on? If so, pull the codes on it and let us know what they are. It could even be something as simple as a vacuum leak.

Any other ideas, anyone else with a similar problem could the MAF be the problem?
Any input would be great!

Cool

may not help, or even be right for a chevy app. but had that same problem on a 89 MK3 supra, it was the big square ign. fuse under the hood, the spring inside had wore over the years, and when it got running temp and you shut it off, you waited about 15 minutes to restart! but, compressed spring with my fingers, never had a problem again. but, japan made though!!

Check your fuel pressure, could have a fuel reg that acts up when it is warm under the hood. Could also be electronic as well. Electronics can have weird symptons when they get hot. One way we test intermittent problems in the electronic world is to heat up a component or device with a hair dryer to see if there are any changes with how it works cold vs hot.
