I am new here but not to car repair. I just picked up a 99 V-6 Camaro. So far I have rebuilt the rear end, changed the fluids to syn and replaced the plugs. I picked this car up fromSeattleand it was continually wet. (So there may be corrosion issues on electrical connections)
Once I got it dried out it has the flashing SES light and when I read the code it is a misfire on #5. I replaced the plugs,Autolite platniums,Runs better but I still have the light.
I am going out to check the resistance on the plug wires, and check out the coil, but isthere a common problem that surfaces with these cars?
I have read the horror stories from others that throw part after part at the car trying to fix the same kind of problem. With limited success. I am hoping someone has some experience here.

Just an up date, I now have the car running great!
I went ahead and replaced the 2-5 coil and wire set. WOW! this car is FUN to drive. I have had other Camaros but this is one has lots of fun factor to it.
I did find some corrosion at the coil contacts but the wires checked out with an ohm meter.
