Default looking at CAI

Hello, I'm lookin at some CAI for my 9.4L and was wondering if they are really cost effective to cough up 200 bucks for, or should I save my money. Granted my car will run cooler obviously, but are there any other supreme advantages over stock intake that should be worth $200 I figure if I'm going to get CAI I'm going to spend the extra chunk and get something that didn't come from a chinese sweat shop. Thanks guys.

a cai doesn't make the car run cooler. a different thermostat would though. just buy an ebay cai. alot of people seem to like them just fine

oh shoot sorry a 3.4L. Anyway. I was just wondering if they are actually cost efficient enough in the long run to spend even $100 bucks on one. I mean if I have to drive it for 5 years to get my money out of it I'm not seeing it as being worthwile to buy one.

$100, yes... A brand is just a name. the cheapy ebay ones with a good filter work wonders. A tube is a tube no matter what the name on it is.

Haha there are probably many things that you own that came from a Chinese sweat shop!

But EVILKAL is right... a tube is a tube and as long as it's not plastic it will work just fine. But I would say at least buy a name brand filter because that's pretty important. I bought my intake from Chrome Intakes off of Ebay. For some extra $ it came with a KandN filter. So I think I ended up paying like 140 plus shipping for it and that's a pretty sweet deal. A CAI is a good investment and you should see HP gains and better gas mileage... especially if you have a stock intake!
