It sounds nice and all, but 500 whp from a 3800 out of the box? Anyone here ever bought one of these?

hmmm i dont know about 500hp factory 3800s are rated at 200hp... so wheres the extra 300hp coming from???

That's what I would like to know. I'm no expert in rebuilding engines, but a 20 over bore and better parts isn't gonna give you 300 extra hp I wouldn't think.

no defiantly not in order to more than double the hp youd need every bolton and probably some boost

Pick on the other tab. The motor can handle 500 HP but they estimate only 25 HP gain on a M90 car will everything stock.

"Engines come with hypereutectic pistons and total seal rings. Optional forged and coated JE pistons are made from 2618 alloy with 52 series pins making them superior to the 4032 alloy Diamond pistons common in our market. Forged pistons recommended for builds over 500HP".
They're not saying their engine comes with 500 hp. They're just recommending forged pistons for a build (after the fact) that's going to push it over 500hp (yes, that would have to require some form of boost).

If you check head options, they are for the fwd gt/gtp, which has boost. So it can handle a small pulley or a compound setup.
