Default keyless entry

I'm about to loose my ****ing mind trying the billions of ways to program your keyless entry on the internet and having none of them work. I have a 2000 camaro vin# and the number on the key fob is gm1626307499 model#l2c00051

do these work together, and does my car even have keyless entry? all of the sites i have checked have said that it does.

Note: thats confusing, i mean trying the ways that i have found on the internet, not programing it from the internet.

What method have you tried to program it? Is the battery in the key fob good? I can't find it right now but I read somewhere to take out the radio fuse, turn the ignition key on and off three times stopping in the on position, lock the doors and press the lock and unlock buttons on the keyfob and hold until the doors unlock. I hope I have not left out any steps and I will see if I can find where I read this. I am thinking it was on this site somewhere.

Hey thanks for the response and the link, but i cant even get the car to verify that it is in programming mode. I ran my vin at the dealership and they told me that it had keyless entry, what could be keeping it from from working?

are you replacing the keyless entry with an after market system or are you reprogramming another factory fob. if you are replacing the system the lock wire is straight forward but the unlock wire must be 5 wired... in other words you must cut the unlock wire in half and wire it on two sides of a relay and also diode isolate to the door pin in this car the locks will go to sleep with the BCM to save power and to wake them back up you pulse the one side of the wire with the door pin and the locks will unlock.

Are you removing the radio fuse on the side of the dash in the fuse box? I tried the instructions posted in the link a few post up with a key fob I have from a later model Chevy van, the car would indicate it was in the programming mode but I could not get the key fob to sync with it. I'm not even sure this key fob is compatible but I figured since I don't have one, I would try it.

This is taken directly from the owners manual for an 01, I don't believe it's different for a 2000 vehicle.

Matching Transmitter(s) to Your Vehicle
Each remote keyless entry transmitter is coded to

prevent another transmitter from unlocking your vehicle.
If a transmitter is lost or stolen, a replacement can be
purchased through your dealer. Remember to bring any
remaining transmitters with you when you go to your
dealer. When the dealer matches the replacement
transmitter to your vehicle, any remaining transmitters
must also be matched. Once your dealer has coded the
new transmitter, the lost transmitter will not unlock your
vehicle. Each vehicle can have only four transmitters
matched to it.
Have each transmitter you intend to match ready for the
next steps. To match transmitters to your vehicle, do
the following:
1. Turn the ignition key to RUN, then to OFF.

This will disarm the content theft
-deterrent/alarm
system (option).
2. Remove the RADIO fuse. This fuse is located in the
main fuse block which is located on the left side of
your instrument panel. See “Fuses and Circuit
Breakers” in the Index.
3. Turn the ignition key from OFF to RUN three times
quickly (within five seconds). The vehicle will respond
by locking the doors, unlocking the driver’s door and
releasing the hatch. Your transmitter is now ready to
match the vehicle. Leave the ignition in RUN.
4. Press and hold the LOCK and UNLOCK buttons on
the first transmitter for 15 seconds. The vehicle will
respond as in Step 3.
5. Repeat Step 4 for the remaining transmitters.
6. When you have finished matching all of your
transmitters, replace the RADIO fuse.
7. Check that all transmitters work by pressing
the buttons.
If the transmitters don’t work, or if you’d rather not
match the transmitters yourself, see your dealer.

I bought a new fob for mine since it only had one and had to match it and the original together.
Hope this helps

first off, thanks for all the tips and replies, and i thought I had mentioned that I cannot even get the car into programming mode, but I'm an idiot and forgot to mention it haha, so if there is anything anybody knows that would keep the vehicle from going into programming mode, it would be really helpful.
