I need all yalls expert input=)
I'm looking at the jetchip lowtempthermostat...blah blah blah. It talks about how much it cools the engine down by lowering the temp at which....I'm not sure...the fan kicks on? Please let me know if you know exactly what it does. AND... is there a side affect to this? For instance if it does turn on a fan at a lower temperature will it lower the fan life? Just give me anything you guys (girls too) have....
Thank you branden |
RE: I need all yalls expert input=)
It just lowers coolant temperature. The fans are controlled by the PCM for a set temperature. The lower coolant temperature cools the engine slightly, this then does not allow the incoming air to heat up as much, which will result in a slight performance gain.

Thanks bra... sounds simple enough. But like I asked is there some kind of negative effect?

You may see a slight if any increase in gas consumption. Oh, and the heater is not as effective in the winter months.
