Hey guys. I need a little help here...

I was going to pick up my boyfriend from his work lastnight (b/c he blew his motor in his Subaru Impreza) at about 8:30 and I had time so I stopped to get some gas and then went on to his work... I stoppe at a BP that I usually go to to get my gas from and I put $20 in and it pretty much filled it up.( I got unleaded like always.) Well after I got gas and everything and went to my boyfriends work (at this time nothing seemed to be wrong.. the car ran fine) well I parked my car at his work and went in for like 10 - 15 mins TOPS. Came back out started my car and it was just shaking... NOW i thought it was just b/c it was a little cold out b/c it had rained and been a bit chilly all day.... but no... We decided we would go to the movies b/c it was out 13month Anniversary the next day (today) but only had time yesterday to celebrate it.... so we went to the movies and all the way the car would shake and sound really funny... and i didn't know what had happend to the car..... We both thought it was just bad gas b/c thats what happend to his Impreza when he got bad gas..... So I told my dad and he kinda checked out my car this morning and told me that HE didn't think that it was just bad gas and that it was something else... So I dont know what to do..... Oh and I dont drive my car hard.... And i didn't lastnight either...

What do you guys think it is?

Any help would be greatly appriciated!!

 

My blazer did that when it had a dirty fuel filter. You may want to check that, sounds stupid but it may be the problem.

 

Standard first question. Does the check engine lite come on?

 

My dads gonna look at it more tonight and see what he can come up with..... I'll have him check the fuel filter as well.. thanks...


Check engine light is weird..... it always comes on... BUT when i was driving the car NO it did not come on..... It usually comes on when I'm drving and let off the gas for about 5 seconds... and then it will stay on until I turn the car off.... Idk what thats about.. but yeah...

 

Don't use BP gas. Seriously. When I bought my car my cousin even left me a note not to use it. (Although I never would.)

 

Was it high test gas? Because since gas prices can be high most people don't use it so there could have been extra moisture in the gas line on the pump that you pumped into your car. It messed up my 78' vette.

 

Get the car scanned & see what trouble codes the check engine lite is complaining about. It will most likely lead you to the problem without having to guess about it.

 

We found the problem.... Very simple.. yet weird... It was just a spark plug, just ONE spark plug.. It was not producing ANY spark at all.. So my dad replaced it and drove it to my work.. and I then drove it home after I got off.... Idk if the gas may have caused it.. but I've been getting gas at the BP here for a long time and its never happend to me before. Idk. hopefully nothing else will go wrong. I have the weirdest luck with cars.. Oh well. Thanks for all the help guys.. I really appriciate it..

And about the check engine light.. we've replaced everything that it could be.. We even had the Chevy dealership check it out and they couldn't find anything.. But Idk maybe we should do it again now that we've had the headgaskets replaced and the heads cleaned and the vavles port and polished......

I won't be getting gas at the BP from now on.. I'll just either go to Shell or Chevron...
