All i want is a Glossy black or a metallic black paint job. im either painting just my front bumper and front 2 fenders body kit and 3 peice spoiler. i just had it painted but they painted my front bumper n fenders a diff color black. i just baught a body kit and the 3 peice spoiler how much would it cost to paint just those or would it be cheaper to paint the whole car again. either choice how much do yall think it would cost.

 

If you DA sand the whole car with 400 grit sand paper to "prep" the body for paint, they'll charge you $200 for their cheapest paint job. If the fenders and body kit and aftermarket stuff isn't primed, they're going to charge you extra for the primer. It's your call to get the door jams painted cuz it's $50/ each jam.

 

You bought a body kit for ur Camaro? interesting.

 

Paint is a funny thing. You can get the whole car painted from MAACO for $250 or go to a custom shop and spend $10,000. All depends what you are looking for.

 

Macco uses a Eurothane paint. That is a single stage paint. A real good paint job is a base coat clear coat for a couple grand.

 

If you dont mind, what does this body-kit look like, I've seen some nice ones, and Ive seen some really wierd/bad ones. If you would have anyway of showing.

 

I like the RS ground Fx. If i were going for a body kit I'd probably go with the RS style. That or the Vizage since it looks similar to the RS

You have to ask the shops in your area the cost. Any one on a message board can come up with a price out of nowhere. Labor rates change all over.
Every one uses Urethane paint. Not just Maaco. There is urethane, enamel and laquer. The last two you dont see the use of much anymore. Mostly due to high E.P.A. standards. Maaco also does clear coat but they call it an intergrated clear coat. Its a last coat of paint with lots of clear mixed with it for more gloss.
Just remember that most of the time you get what you pay for.

 

Like I said, we did our boss' Camaro for $200 with doing the prep work.
