With forced induction, good heads & cam, you can probably get around 300HP, but it won't stay together for long. Last summer we had a 2.8 pulling 275 HP at the wheels of a Pontiac GP (Mustang Dyno), but it ate all the bearings in about 150 miles.

Not worth it.
Not a lot out there for them. The 2.8 is rated at 135hp and 160 torque. The 3.1 is rated at 140hp and 180 torque. There is not a huge aftermarket for them and you would need some major funds. I have heard of guys stroking them out and fully built making around 200HP NA but your talking about 3-5 grand easy. Now there are some turbo V6 guys making some good power put they still hit a power limit on the stock internals and still have to build the hell out of it to make any good power. Plus now your talking about 3-4 grand for a turbo kit. And lets not forget about your transmission and your going to need at least a 12 bolt to get the power to the ground.
I dont see you getting any more then 200 crank horses out of any one of the listed engines and thats fully built in NA form. IF you want to get any real power your going to have to go FI (forced Induction) and a brand new drive line and built engine.
