I believe I lost my car keys. Wha do I need to do to get a new key? I dont have a spare. Also, I may have used my remote to lock the car...would I still be able togetin with a key only? Thanks for any help.

 

well if you used the remote the alarm is set..... um i have heard the dealer once they have the vin # they can make you a new one..... but im prolly wrong....... locksmith maybe????

 

The dealer should still be able to make a key for you from the VIN #, but you need to prove ownership of the car. If they don't ask for it, I would yell at them. Before the authorities (and car dealers) got wise, car thieves would use that as a way to steal a car. A thief would find a car they wanted to steal, copy down the VIN # that is conveniently shown through the windshield, go to a dealer and say "I lost my keys, can you make me a copy". I still keep my VIN # covered up for added security.

 

yeah give the dealership ur vin # and they can make you a key.
