96 was the first year of the 3.8 in the camaro so im sure its different, i think 97 was the first year of the 3800 series II but im not sure, but i dont think its that big of a deal in a difference

I have a series 2 3.8, that's what all the 3.8's are in the f-bodys.

well im sure something was changed being that 96 was the first year of the 3.8, just like they changed stuff on the lt1 from 93 -95 and 96 -97

I can think of the pcm, but that's it. But even a 97 pcm is a direct swap.

never the less something is different, if any of you have 98 3.8's if you do looking around MOST bolt ons are for 99 - 02...atleast thats how it was a year ago when i had mine and was looking for stuff

from 95 to 98 the L36 didn't change. In 99 they changed to a straight TB, and 2000 they changed to tubular exhaust manifolds. IIRC.

'95 was the first year. Only thing I believe is different is the PCM, driveshaft, rear brakes.
