Default Heads replacement

Hi everybody,
I have a 96 3.8 engine with 140,000 miles. I ran the car hot and had to repalce the heads. I bought some used heads that i put on already. I am almost fininsh with the engine assembly, but the tensioner pulley screw hole had got strip when i was trying to put the pulley on the belt tensioner. I dont want the buy another tensioner if this problem turns out negative because the are expensive. Is it possible I can run the car without the belt rolling after I change the oil? If my car runs good after that I wouldnt mind buying the tensioner.

Thank you

You can run it without a belt, but only for a few minutes, as it will overheat and cause damage. Did you get the replacement heads resurfaced??

No i didnt get them resurfaced, but I had a machanic look at them and he said was good to put on. I did them down until the surface was smooth. Will the run like it suppose to or will there be some effect?

Thank you,

Did you do the proper Valve adjustment? Does it sound right when it cranks?

What are the vavle adjustments? Is it the rocker and push rods? It sounds like a winding noise like it going trying to start than theres a couple of low bumps like it is trying to start.

Can somebody help me figure out why my car wont start? I double checked all wires. The car just turns over but nothing after that.

Thank you,
