Header install, is it possible DIY?

Ive got a set of Pacesetter headers that I want to get on my car.
I've read a few how-tos and I'm debating whether I should do it myself. Is this pretty difficult or should i have a local shop do it for $450.

it is not 450 dollars difficult, I'd do it yourself if I'm honest

I found the easiest way is to cutoff the top of metal gasket and use a closed end wrench piss on socket and ratchet.. trying to get the correct angle and all the adapters blow. there's just no room and soak them at least for a day with pb blaster or like. and use flat washers and locking on every bolt when you bolt on headers

Any tips on this? Think I could get it done with two-jackstands? I just don't want to **** up on it.:icon_poop:

Top of the metal header gasket? Any other tips?

the metal gasket has a 90 degree angle or so it prevents you from getting to the headers bolts from the top. I use a dremel to cut off that lip or you could probably just grab and bend up that metal lip to gain access. make sure before you apply any pressure with wrench you have a good "seat" on head of bolt no need to rush.

hopefully the o2 sensors come out if not u need to buy new ones. dont even think about removing them untill old exhaust manafolds are off

use the old 02 sensors if you can, you will have to get new ones in a week. the new stuff inside burns off in the headers and makes the 02s go wack.

Any ideas on what gaskets to get? I have the gaskets and bolts that came with the actual Pacesetter headers but I've heard there are better gaskets to use (if that's even true?). I've read that it's a mix up, some people use the gaskets that come with the headers, others just buy new ones.

get these work get and our just like OEM Victor Reinz/Exhaust Manifold Gasket Victor Reinz/Exhaust Manifold Gasket (MS16099) | 1996 Chevrolet Camaro 6 Cylinders K 3.8L SFI OHV | AutoZone.com

as far as hardware, you can get grade 8 replacement bolts pretty cheap form tractor supply, and for the y pipe get the biggest bolt that will fit therw the holes, and use lock washers on both sides and a lock nut, I've never had any problems with leaks or contsat re tightening..
