lol, thanks, I think.

Got the quote on the headers finally, not a bad price. $1200 for the headers and y-pipe.

i spent 500 on my header/ypipe combo..... that sucks....

how well a car responds is also heavily dependant on its head design. I am having trouble seeing a 3.8 jumping 20hp with just longtubes. ill believe it if someone can show me a before/after dyno.

SEE! SEE!! Ive owned a 3.8 before.. it may not have been a Camaro but it was a 3.8L Mustang and it was gutless.. then again.. it was a V6 mustang... I also test drove a 1998 V6 Camaro and i wasnt impressed... i liked my misfiring Z28 better...

ok, turbo headers.... my bad.

i didnt see any evidence of a 20hp jump in that thread u posted. and its like 1 million pages long so please direct link the post u want us to see. all i saw was a 7 or so hp difference with a cutout open/closed, and a 5hp differece between 2 consecutive cutout open passes.

All SAE corrected and on the exact same tune. Also all runs were on the same dyno:
Friday duno
#1 Cutout closed: Max HP 201.2
#2 cutout open: HP: 209.9
#3 cutout open: HP: 214.8

Today:
#1 Cutout closed 207.8
Now here is where we went
#2 Cutout open 268.6 (we did not believe it)

This time we shot of a 75 shot of nitrous
#3 Cutout open with a 75 shot 331.8

It appears Dan's car loves the open cutout..... I'll try to get everything upload today.
The base run was with pacesetter headers, not stock manifolds. Most of the thread is in awe of the gains.

Wait.. so with an open cut out he got 268... what about with stock exhaust or a catback w/o the cutout... Surely he didnt just leave it stock and throw headers and a cutouton there. I think your missing something.

something is goofy. cutouts just cannot add that sort of power, especially with a run with the exact same setup the day before 60hp less. and that 268 looks alot like a torque curve lol. if i was a shop owner and i had a jump like that between runs I would recalibrate my dyno. i dont think thats proof of the v6 modibility.... and doesnt prove 20hp from headers. ive modded alot of cars and i just dont see how a gain like that is really possible. hell, even my old GT only got 30rwhp from full boltons.
