Harmonic balancer install
Does anyone know where to find a tool to install the harmonic balancer on a 96 camaro? I've tried renting a couple. On one of them the center bolt wasn't long enough to work and on the other the center bolt was tool large to fit through the balancer. I'd rather not buy one and run into the same problem or use the crankshaft bolt to pull the balancer on, but i'm almost to the point of just trying it and hoping i don't damage the threads

best way is to measure the bolt size and thread count on the shaft. heres one that covers em all. http://www.summitracing.com/parts/SU...n/?prefilter=0
i have found that if you heat the hub it will go on much easier. i used boiling water. dont heat the balancer as it has rubber rings in it.

When I put the balancer back on my 3800 I just used a little motor oil on the crank and a plastic hammer to get it on far enough that I could use the crank bolt safely. Make sure you can get the bolt in a few threads before using any force on it so you dont pull the threads out. I also oiled the blanacer a little so it would not hurt the front seal.
