Default got a question

i'm hoping this isn't a major problem starting.

96 3800 v6 5 spd.

the problem is starting up. this doesn't always happen just seems happen when i don't need it too. lol

anyway a week ago i had the ac compressor go out, so i bypassed it this friday, an she cranked up fine an ran fine, saturday she cranked right up ran fine.

she sat saturday nite an allday sunday, since i didn't go anywhere.

so come early Monday morning i whent out to go to work 6:25am turn key , turns over an over but no crank. i repeat still no crank, i repeat the i can describe only as a backfire into the air intake (like u hear on an old carb car when it burps back thru the carb)
no crank, so i repeat turn key turns over over then shutters no crank, repeat , turn over turn then shutter an starts shakey then smoothes out. (maybe 5mins it took to start but seems like 4ever)

I drive to work at 65mph on cruise like it never happen. at work i crunk at lunch fired up first lick, after work fired up on first lick,

so any ideas wtf was going on in the morning?

i'm hoping just needs new plugs an wires.

Any SES codes? How long has it been since you had a tune up and fuel filter replacement. Almost sounds like you were having some issues with the cam position sensor or crank sensor.

agree scann for trouble codes three yr old codes dont tell whats happening now. check connections to the ignition modual and the crank, cam sensors. if plugs and wires havent been changed in a long while it wouldnt hirt to change.

You going to cook it 69? Lol.

Plugs and wires wouldn't cause no firing at all. Since the engine is turning over.... Unless you magically ****ed up ALL of them at the same time... Even then I don't think you'll completely kill them all.

I suggest checking out the fuel pump. Check your fuel pressure and make sure it is adequate. I think over 50 PSI should be fine. If it's not, I'm gonna say fuel pump.

bad plugs will not cause loss of spark but can cause it not to run. im thinking thats the issue, its not starting.
