Fuel Injector or Fuel Pressure Regulator?
 
Having problems with my car. Car has a fuel pressure problem and trouble starting up.I had my car tested When I turn car on fuel pressure is fine, when i turn it off pressure drops right down to 0. It's suppose to stay at 40 psi for a while.
One shop told me it was a fuel injector while another told me its my fuel injector... What do I need to do?

i guess if both shops say its a fuel injector then thats what it is. lol. i asume you meant one said the fuel pressure regulator. you will need to set up a valve on the return line, small fuel line, and pick up a fuel pressure gage. hook up the fuel pressure gage and the shut off valve, prime the system and close the shutoff valve to the return line. if the pressure drops it s a injector if not its the fpr or fuel pump ball valve is stuck. as an alternitive to a valve on the return line i have used a set of vice grips with the flat ends that i use for welding pots to clamp the return line. i slidd the fuel line cover up to expose the plastic lines up by the fenderwell were the elements had not effected them and there a bit softer. put some card board folded over so each side had carboard between the vice grips and the fuel line and clamped it when i needed to close the return line. this doesnt mean your fuel line will not crack but mine did not and the car is a 93.

i went so far as to pull my injector rack and left it hooked up, put pieces of carboard under the injectors and primed the pump. i had no fuel on the cardboard and the pressure dropped so the fuel was not going by a bad injector.

You may also want to check the fuel pump out. The fuel pump has a check valve that keeps the fuel from flowing back into the tank when the engine is off. This valve is prone to failure, and is part of the pump. A bad pressure regulator can leak, pull the vacuum line and if there is gas inside, the regulator is bad. The sure way to detect a leaky injector is to pull the rack with the injectors attached, as Craby did, and prime the pump & look for leaks. Make sure the engine is cold and there are no open flames nearby.

Fuel pressure
 
When I crank the engine over it stays at 42 psi on the guage but stI'll won't start where do I go first the injectors or the pump
