Take the old engine wiring harness out and the stock computer. Drop in the new motor, the new wiring harness and the new computer. If you have access to the bolts holding the transmission bolts, I would take the motor out by itself. You will also need to raise the car so that way you can take the bolts off the torque converter. You also need the V8 radiator. Change the motor mounts while you're at it. Youl'll need fuel line quick disconnect tools too.

Being that the car is a 2002, make sure the V8 u are using is an LS1, otherwise you will have wiring issues, among other things. It will be a better deal if you sold the car and bought a V8 model.

Pretty much, in a 3.8L car, complete engine, electronics, radiator....that covers most of the "must-haves".

Thank you! The reason im doing this is because its my friends sons car and he just went over in irack and my friend wants to surprise his son when he gets out with a v8 and custom air brush american flags on both sides of the car and a big navy seals emblim in the center of the hood does it sound like a good idea?

I like the thaught, but it would be a better idea to sell the V6 car and buy a V8 car, and then paint it. It will take much less time, and cost less, and probably work better.
