Default Engine Squeal

Hey Guys,
I have a 95 3.4L with a squeal that is driving me nutz! I have replaced the A/C compressor, belt tensioner, belt, the water pump is new, also the alternator is pretty new as well. After replacing all of these there is still a squeal...any ideas?

Thanks,

Alec

Is it a constant squeal? Do you hear it all the time?

As opposed to a constant squeal that you only hear once in a while? Sorry man....just hadda do it!!
Did you try removing the belt and then running the engine to see if you still get a squeal? A few seconds isn't going to hurt anything. While the belt is off, and engine off, give each pulley some spins by hand and listen for noise. It could also be that something is bent (idler, component bracket), and the belt isn't tracking straight.

Hey Guys, Figured it out...Just a freaking belt...I took it off ran the engine no noise....messed around with the pulleys all seemed fine spun freely..cleaned them real good cleaned the belt real good....I was at a loss when I put the belt back on....finally went to parts store and asked them to warranty the belt as this was the only thing I could think of, they did warranty the belt, changed it out in the parking lot (LOL) not a squeal/squeak! Good to go!

Good deal. If you or somebody else dripped coolant on the belt or pulleys, it can give you a belt squeal that only a good scrub-down can fix.

Old mechanic trick: Take a long screwdriver put it on where you think the noise is coming from (Example: Water pump), While the engine is running and put your ear next to the handle of the screw driver and you can litterally hear the bearings, if there good no noise, if there bad you hear it. Be careful not to let that driver slip and hit the belt. But all in all you figured it out. Thats how i figured out i needed a new water pump
