Electrical Failure? Help!

Ok so I have a 400 watt inverter that I hooked up the the battery the other day. I blew a fuse in it because it got outrageously hot. Well I'm thinking that when I blew the fuse in it, it shorted something out in the cars electrical.

The day after I went to start it and it didn't even crank. 2 seconds later it fired right up.

Today I started it and my windshield fogged up BADLY as if i had anti-defrost going on in the middle of summer. Not sure how that worked. None of the AC or blower motors were running when this happened. However when I turned the defrost on, it blew all the "fog" on the windshield away.

Now as my car sits in my friends driveway at an idle it just dies. Doesn't seem to lose power or anything. Just shuts off as if someone turned the key off. It did this twice in 5 minutes. I tried to get it to do it while there was a code reader on it and it wouldn't do it. I have no check engine light on or anything.

Anyone have any ideas?!?

A fogging windshield makes me think you have a leaking heater core (fogging is a common symptom). But there wouldn't be a connection between that and how the engine runs unless your coolant level is way low and it's overheating. Or if the heater core is spraying like a fountain under the dash, but that should still be contained in the heater box.

What got excessively hot, the inverter or the engine??

Check the A/C drain too! If it is really hot and humid and your A/C is not draining properly the car will fog the windows when the blower motor starts turning. Could you be getting ready for a fuel pump by chance?

I think it's draining properly because every time i park the car I get a bunch of water underneath it from the AC. I'm not sure if that's whats supposed to happen but yeah. I was told the heater core could be going out. Because it does this when I first start the car and take off fast with a higher RPM. That's when my window fogs up like crazy. And that happened last night with the AC on "Max", the fan on high, and all the way on cold.
