Drag Racing
Just out of curiosity, what's the fastest cars you guys have 1/4 mile dragged or less? Sparked a thought in my mind yesterday when I raced (and destroyed) my friend is his turbo 2005 Forester XT. The only reason I post this in tech is because my car is completely stock, but still I still beat an STI turbo. I've noticed the get up even in these V6's are amazing, so I'd like to hear your stories!

I would make sure his is turbo'd. If it is, I have a feeling he may have let you win. The EJ255 engines are quick in turbo form, especially coupled with AWD. Btw, it's not an STi. Only Impreza WRX's got the STi designation. They aren't the same engines either, the STi's have slightly different heads, different turbo and a different intercooler.

There is always the possibility he doesn't know how to race. I've just never driven one these sixxers and thought "wow that's got some power". But, I suppose a win is a win.
As to your original question, the fastest car I was in that was dragged will be my current Camaro once I hit the track. I'm shooting for high 11s |
Your 02 3800 can run mid to high 15's with an automatic a Y87 3800 with 5 speed would run mid to low 15's. You should be able to search any other car and find stock estimated 1/4 mile times.

Mopar (Valiant)
normally aspirated 340 In order to fit wider tires I had to lift the rear (too cheap to tub) 3.55's best I ever got was 11.10 some suspension work and 4.10s and I probably would have broken very high 10's but, that was older technology fastest car I ever "raced" was a rail who ran in the 8's It's just how we ended up at the line I had him the first 3 or 4 feet. I got him off the tree and then enjoyed watching him the rest of the way |
i had some ford t birds from 90s an 87 to with 3.8 ,an they felt awesome at the time ,but compared to lt1 5.7 big difference it felt for me ,my 05 sable is rated at250hp with 3,0 Vulcan engine ,it get up there to about 80 then dogs out ,i would not race anything with les then a good v8 ,an not on the road your lucky the 250.00 did not go to a bail bill ,most states now raceing meens cuffed an stuffed ,an like 2500 in fines ,you did not indicate if it was the track, just saying

I dont know if is comparable, i had a Grand Prix GTP with the supercharged 3.8. I had boost upgrade, reflashed ECM, intake, headers, exhaust and heavy motor mounts and i ran 14.40 at 97. The fastest non supercharged one i seen run (this is in Calgary Alberta 3000+ ft elevation) was like 15.6.
Did you say "If I win, I take the money, and the respect. To some people that's more important"? |

Ok, I got home from work and decided to look into this a bit more. Are you trying to tell me you beat a "heavily modified" car that bone stock runs a 14.3 in a bone stock car that runs 15.6? New cars, comparing test to test, he is almost 2 seconds faster 0-60 and this one you raced is supposed to be fully modified.
I didn't want to say it before but I have to now, whatever you do, do not run that car again when he replaces the two burnt spark plug wires on his motor. I don't like being an internet troll, but there is no possible way that this happened unless you did like a standing mile race up to maximum speed. Maybe he is governed at like 100mph? Please remember that this isn't an insult, it is just I find it very hard to believe, he must has an extremely tired car that is bleeding boost right from an idle. |
