Default doggy 3.4

i have a 95 3.4 5 speed. I dont know whats wrong or what to look for, but around 3000 to 3500 rpms the motor sounds like it is screaming for the next gear and acts like it dont want to go any higher. When i put it to the floor it falls on its face but when i have it half throttle it picks up speed just fine. any ideas on what could be wrong?

Clogged fuel filter, restricted exhaust/cat converter, terribly dirty air filter, fuel pump crapping out, bad batch of gas, neighbors cat wedged in the intake tube.

are you sure they were able to scan your car? the 95 has a odd obd system. its obd1 but an obdII plug (most autoparts stores cant scan 95 gm cars)
