K well im stuck at finding out why my camaro is getting such bad gas mileage. I replaced the Plugs, wires, PCV, fuel filter, and in the process of getting a K & N air filter. I still am only getting between 12-14 mpg around town. I drive it like a grandma too.

At the shop that i had some of the work done at, said the only way i could be getting that crappy of gas mileage is if i had a dead cylinder. Which they checked and i did not have.

Any ideas!?

 

May need a tune up, could be just bad timing.

 

Is it running rough as well?

Mine's not that great either. Getting about 22 mpg with about 90% of that Hwy @ 70mph (cruise control). Thinking a tuneup is definitely in order. Hopefullythe extra 8 to 9 mpg(*crosses fingers) I get is gonnapay for the tuneupeventually.

No it seems to idle and run just fine.

 

Well, as previously stated, a tune up may fix your problem, V6's get like 16 mpg city anyways.

i see you got all your mods in, notice a decent change? Was the Alum D/S pretty easy?

 

My mechanic informed me that the 02 Camaros don't really need a tuneup until 100K miles. He stated that the poor gas mileage could be the result of an aftermarket tune that was installed in the PCM. I might have to pick up a Hypertech and see if I can get some better mpgs that way. I installed a Whisperlid today sowe'll see if that has any affect.
