dct42, the code reader I used said a signal error at first then I cleared the code, then it came up ignition control failure. I'll try the diagnostic system you posted, and see what I find

this is for the most part the same as the 4.3 only difference is they say to tap on the engine lift hook to see if you can set off the sensor.

I suppose you didn't get my pm, Thanks a lot for the looking those up for me. I actually figured it out, I pulled the fuse for the air pump and the check engine light hasn't come one since, and the car runs great.

yes i did but when i tried to send the last picture it wouldnt let me and said you had to many messages in memory. i dont think the air pump will effect performance so im not sure what is going on with your system. it may be theres a power draw in that wiring or the air pump.
