Cool Changing my Air filter

Well, i just got my 97 camaro so I'm very new to what goes where in the engine etc.. well i just bought a K&N air filter, and i get home to install it and replace the old filter and, call me dumb, but i can't figure out how to open the box. There are two clips on the top that hold the housing unit together... and once i unclip them the box doesnt open.. more or less it splits open and there isn't enough room to pull the old one out. do i have to take the whole entire air intake out(i'm sure there's an easier way). i think there may be other clips but non that are visible. ive researched it but cant find step by step pictures or videos? Anyone can help out? i dont want to break any pieces, so im trying the intelligent way lol. thanks alot.

Heres a link to the picture i took that shows the top of the housing unit, since i cant put an attachment http://tinypic.com/r/dpda1t/7

Much Appreciated

Okay that box you have to pull out as a whole then split it open.

I usually unscrew the clamp at the throttle body and wiggle it out. It's easier than messing with that other clamp. Clean your throttle body while you're at it.
