Default Cat Delete..?

My catalytic converter has been making a terrible sound lately, and its time for a new one. It only makes the sound when its in reverse, or drive with the brakes held. Its a rattle kind of noise, maybe its clogged some. It stops when i actually get going though. Anyway I was thinking it could be a little while before i can get a new one, so should I just cut it off and replace it with a straight pipe, or would it not be worth the emissions problems?

if you cut it off you may have problems with you O2 sensors. the OBD2 system has a sensor behind the cat. you would have to replace it with a simulator. if you have an OBD1 like i do then you wont have any probs. it will just be louder. i had to put a cat back on my car, it was to loud for me personally

yeah im just not even going to bother with taking the cat off. im just going to wait until i get a new one.. As for the rattle.. its something inside the cat. If you hit the cat with something you can hear it rattle..
