camaro with high power subs ?
hey guys i posted this in another forum too, but not sure if it stuck, anyway i want to put some high power subwoofers in my car ( around 1000 watts) but im not sure where to mount them, i've seen boxes that make the subs face up in the trunk but im worried it would blow out the window seal or the window itself wouldn't it ???
i also thought of building a box to fit on that level part right behind the rear seat you know in the hatchback area let me know what you think guys thanks!!

RE: camaro with high power subs ?
I'm probably pushing around 148-149db in mine, was 147 when I had it on a meter but it's got twice the power now. My speakers set in the tub of the hatch, had to take off the trim panel because the speakers were hitting it when they extended. With my box I can't put very deep subs in it, the ones I have in it now are hitting the box. I know there are boxes that set just down in the tub and don't extend up to the seat like mine which positions them better and you can use a deeper sub, but they don't give you much airspace. My box is 1.5cu ft of airspace. It will rattle like hell, dynamat might help some. I've seen a camaro that had the hatch welded shut and the hole back end was a speaker box with the subs setting right behind the driver, a little extreme but it was loud. Here is a pic of my setup, had it custom built, it takes advantage of the flat part behind the seat and the tub.

that is one BIG *** BOX!!!
Here's my setup...def wont be as loud as a big box, but it works fine for me (I limited this one audio meter @ 125...so not sure how many db it's pushing, but it's 125+)
