A/C Question for a 98 3.8
The a/c wouldn't blow cold air so bought a 16oz can of freon with the guage. I started to put it in and the compressor kicked in cuz the system was dry. It took the whole 16oz can and now the compressor runs without cycling on and off. It's now blowing better with cool air but not as cold as it should be. I don't want to over fill! I checked for leaks the day after with it on a while and it seems to hold what I put in. With it bone dry, how many ounces is it supposed to hold. The electric fan and compressor started working after I dumped about a 1/3 of the can in it. I was told not to put over 24 oz's in the system but when I stopped at 16, the pressure read where it was suppose to be according to the ambient temp outside. Should I have left it hooked up to see if the pressure dropped back down while it ran?
