Default A/C Clutch Problem

I'm wondering if a noisy compressor problem I'm having when not using the A/C is an A/C clutch problem or an A/C clutch bearing problem? The noise goes away when the compressor is engaged. The A/C works normally.

Thanks!

Sound like you need a new AC compressor clutch assembly.

Thanks Pete! Much less inexpensive solution than a new compressor!

One other question....how hard is it to replace it? Can the compressor remain on the vehicle or does it have to be removed? Thanks!
