So far I’ve known 2 people whose 1993-2000 mirrors has been broken clean off due to hitting something (I ran into a 4”-4” lamp post while backing out of a driveway. To my credit there was no light on it and I’m not the only one who had hit the dang thing. In the Non automatic mirror the mirror falls right off and on the Automatic mirror it comes off but ishanging bywires attached to the motor inside. In both cases there are two things you can do. (I made my repair about 4 years ago and its still hangin on)

First option- ~Professional way~

Take off the panel on the inside and unscrew the broken bracket from the car and replace the whoe mirror at around $90.00 new unpainted or find one in a junk yard and replace with that (it might be hard to find one the same color and even then it will probably be faded different from your car.

Second option ~ghetto way~ this is what I did

Take off the panel on the inside and unscrew the broken bracket from the car and bring it to the work bench for some repair.

1.) Your gona need a power drill or drill press with a drill bit and 3 or 4 crews 2" long. (Make sure your drill bit issmaller than your screws)

2.) Have someone hold the two broken parts together the way they would fit before broken.

3.) Drill 3-4 pilot holes around the mirror in the area where thehole will go through both parts of the broken mirror.

4.) Drill your screws slowly into the pilot holes and make sure its on good.

5.) Reattach your mirror and take the money you saved and fill err up with some premium gas.

6.) if you think the screws make your car look bad buy some touch up paint and paint the screw heads with that. (Personally I didn’t care it’s a Camaro and if it doesn’t have a few dings and dents your not driving it right)


As you can see i didnt use galvanized screws but after 4 years they're still holdin on but rusted a bit. what you cant see is the other 2 screws on the bottom side.
