lol, yeah, I hit the limiter. But under load, the rasp is noticiable a little above 4500. My new exhaust will be very loud, it's similar to the slp loudmouth, a resonator instead of a muffler.

 

Well you should know what with whatever you put on there it will sound better as time goes on. I had the stock muffler cut off and put an 80 series flowmaster on there then ran dual rectangular tips out the back. After a few years of owning it the sound has lowered and people swear its a V8 when they pass me. But i'm not out there reving the crap out of it trying to make it seem like i gained 2 cylinders by adding exhaust like some people tend to do. The reason you are getting those raspy sounding V6 camaro's is because they are putting too much muffler and pipe on there. That V6 only puts out a certain amount of exhaust. So there is no correct answer as to which is the best sounding, it's all in personal preference. Because i like to have a good sounding car and not one that's loud as crap and annoys people when they hear it.

 

Yeah see I have a Flowmaster 40 series on mine and I love it. Tone is a lot deeper than the usual 80 series and Magnaflow mufflers. Has rasp around 4500 but I hardly ever rev my car that high anyhow =P

 

Yeah but that 40 series is also a lot bigger too and is very visible if you look at it from behind. See the 80 series is smaller plus my RS has the ground effects package so i have a little more bumper then you do, so it covers up whatever is left very nicely.

Pacesetter headers, 2.5" H pipe, 2.5" intermediate pipes, 3" Borla XR-1 mufflers, 3" dumps at axle.

Yeah I have an 02 3.8 and I just cut the muffler off and it was loud! A LOT of rasp to it but no muscle sound to it. And I got a glasspack muffler put on it and its just quieter now and I dont like it. Maybe I will remover the entire exhaust system and see how that works!

 

I like the loud V6 sound, my theory is, why make a six sound like an 8? It's a six, let it do it's own thing.
