Appearance/Performance

RE: Appearance/Performance
When I was a kid, there was a local guy who LOVED to shoot paint and he was GOOD. He HATED to do the grunt work, so if he liked you and your ideas and you were willing to do the sanding and spotting and masking ... the way HE wanted, you gotsome damn nice paint ... and some knowledge for a few hundred $$$. By chance I ran into him again last year, he's got 6 of hisformer charity workers employed for him full timeand 3 work study vo-tech students. There's an 18 month wait just to have him concider IF he wantsyour work.
A few years ago I needed some body work on one of my cars. An evening class at the local Vo-Tech took care of everything. There was one guy who always showed up with a different car every other night. In 2 - 12 week sessions he made enough of a rep and $$$ to start his own shop. Is there any up and comming painters around you? Don't forget, your car isn't just another 'job' to them, it's also advertisement.
And let's not forget, the 4th gen F body has been out of production for 6 yrs now. I've seen NEWcomplete ground effects kits going for under $600. If a shop has one on the shelf, chances are he'll be happy just to break even on it. Read that as "Deep Discount".
So, before you go laughing your a** off wondering where you can find 'all that' .... Ask your self, 'How bad do I want it?' and 'Am I willing to work a bitfor it.' It's a LOT more satisfying when you become personally involved in a project.
That is, if you're not afraid of a little work and dirty hands.
